November Daily Thankful.

Tonight, Jakie reminded me that his school was collecting coins for "Angel Tree Coins for Kids".  Before I could even respond to it he said:

"So you know what I'm gonna do?  I'm emptying out my bank tomorrow morning and I'm taking all of my money to school to give them.  Can I, Mommy?"

Wow.  Totally impressed.  He's the sweetest eight year old boy I know.  I absolutely could not be more proud.

So, on "Day seven", I'm thankful for a giving son.  Thankful to an eight year old little boy who reminded me about much we really have.  Thankful that at eight years old he understands how fortunate he is.  Thankful he's doing God's work.  I couldn't ask for anything more.  Love that boy :)

ten on tuesday.

1.  Jacob was stoked that we left the house this morning at 8:12 even though I tried to tell him it was way too early and no one would be there yet.  Sure enough (!) we got there and the playground was dead.  Not a kid in sight.  We waited in the car for a few minutes until he decided he wanted to get out.  Maybe next time he'll listen to me!  Probably not :)

2.  Jared has been patiently waiting for his "cothume" (costume) to come in the mail.  It came a few days ago.  I just didn't tell him :) I couldn't take the bugging anymore so I gave in after holding out as long as I could.  His reaction was totally worth the wait.  Can't wait 'til Grandma Nancy is done with his doctor's lab coat!

3.  While I was out today running errands I bought Michael lunch.  Taco Bell.  That boy couldn't have held his smile in if he had to when I walked in the door.  He loves Taco Bell.

4.  Jared couldn't wait to get home to show Jacob his stuff.  They took turns playing doctor.  So cute.

5.  Of course, every good patient gets a sticker :)

6.  Jared.  How could anyone NOT love him?!  Everything about this boy cracks me up.  --I think he's gonna be quite the little baseball player ;)

7.  We're watching The Biggest Loser right now.  No Tim Tebow this week :(

8.  Jared got a new student in his class today.  He screamed bloody murder at the end of the day because he didn't want to leave!  Hilarious!  His Mom didn't think it was so funny.
9.  I have nothing left to say, even though I know there's stuff I'm forgetting.  That's what I get for not writing stuff down as the day went on.  Slacker.

10.  I'm tired.

yesterday + today.

Wednesday:
  • This conversation took place when Jared and I were getting ready for school.
Jared: Mommy, (insert friend's name here) is mean.  He hits people when he gets mad.  Member lesterday he hit me in my face?  He doesn't want to be my friend.  YOU KNOW WHAT?!  I bet he's a MONSTER!

Me: You mean she is a monster, right?  (Insert friend's name here) is a girl, silly.

Jared: Mommy, I know he's a girl!  I was trying to tell you that he is a girl MONSTER!  THAT'S why he's so mean.  You think he's a monster?  I think he could be.

Me: I don't think she's a monster Jared.  I think she's just a grumpy girl.  But, just because she's grumpy doesn't mean she should hit her friends, right?  Everyone needs to keep their hands on their own bodies and be kind to eachother.

Jared: He should be happy.  Like me.  It's nice to be happy to people.

Me: You are correct.  We should all be happy to people :)

...20 minutes later we pulled into the parking lot at school.

Jared: *GASP!!!* It's HIM!  There he is!  Ugggghhhhh.  It's okay.  I'm still gonna be nice to him.

...If only I could have a video camera on that boy 24/7.  Without him knowing.  --The best part of it all, he reminded me "to be happy to people".  I love that boy :)
  • Jacob spent his usual 20 minutes with Mr. House after school playing with his cool bag of tricks.  He's a retired school teacher that faithfully shows up every Wednesday just so he can let the kids play with his cool stuff.  I so very much love and appreciate a passionate teacher.

  • Jared fed the dogs yesterday because he's such a sweet baby brother and wanted to do Jacob's job.  Too bad he spilled the entire container.  My back was turned when it happened and I just heard dog food falling to the floor.  It seemed like it went on. and on. and on. before it finally stopped.  So, what was my reaction?  I laughed.  What else could I do?  The damage was done.  I turned around and Jared's eyes were full of water.  All of his hard work was all for nothing.  Poor guy.  We tried to tell him it was an accident and wasn't his fault.  He still cried.  At least he attempted to clean the mess.  Roxy and Lady helped with the rest.

  • Beyblades.  The boys' newest obsession.

  • This is what happens when you sing to your wife and she has a camera in her hand.  hehe.  I L.O.V.E. him  :)

Thursday:

  • This morning while I was in the shower THIS happened!  Soil everywhere and a plant ripped to shreds.  But, of course no one knows how it happened.  I'm guessing it was probably that hairy little girl right next to the mess???  And, don't judge my brown plant :)

  • Jared and I had breakfast with a friend this morning.  Miss Chrissy.  Better known to Jared as, Mith Trithy.  Someone was a crabby butt since he woke up at 6 a.m. + was having allergy issues. {not cool}.  He so very much needed this 30 minute nap before school.  It's amazing what a little extra sleep can do.

  • Staying after school for playtime with the Lopez's is the boys' favorite.  Mine too :)

Monday.

  • Both boys slept 'til 7:30 this morning.  Yay!  That's highly unusual for Jared.  That boy is like clockwork.  6:30 or earlier.  Everyday.
  • Jakie woke up feeling much better so we decided to head to Chik-fil-A for some Chik-n-Mini's.  YUM!

  • While we were there Jared saw an old man with a long white beard and yelled, "Mommy!  Look!  It'sth Sthanta Clausth!!!!  He'sth at Chik-Flay toooooo!!!" Oh, wow.  I laughed so hard.  Thank goodness he didn't hear him.  Although, I don't know how he didn't.  Jared kinda has a big mouth :)
  • Next stop, Target.  Up and down every toy aisle, making sure to not miss one. single. thing. that has a button to make noise.  Do I mind?  Nope! :) That's the best part about going to Target for them.  And, 99% of the time we leave with not one toy in the cart.
  • Today, we left with a toy.  Made their day.  A Bakugan.  One for Jakie, one for Jared.
  • We finished up our day at practice.  I'm surprised Jakie was even able to function since he was loaded up on allergy medication.  BUT, he insisted on going to practice.  "It's just a little cough and stuffy nose, Mommy.  I'll be fine.  I'm GOING TO PRACTICE.  I CAN'T miss it." Guess he pretty much shut me up :)
  • All in all, it was a fun day.  Well, for 3 out of 4 of the Adams.  Jason didn't have such a good day at work.  That doesn't make me happy :( I don't like when things are out of my control and I can't fix them.  Fixing things is what I do.  Unfortunately, I can't fix things for him at work.  All I can do is listen and be supportive.  Somehow, I think that's enough for him :) ...for now, anyway.

S + S

Saturday:

*  Jakie's baseball game.  The best part about Saturdays.  I'm not sure if there's anything else I'd rather do than watch that boy play.  Especially since I've learned to keep my mouth shut.  If I have frustration issues, Jason gets to hear it, not Jacob.  Lucky Jason :) ...That's the new rule.  For Mommy AND Daddy.

** stats: 2 walks, 1 triple, 2 stolen bases, pitched 2 innings (struck out 4)

Guess who forgot her camera?  Bad, BAD Mommy.

*  And, what's better than baseball AND a Bake Sale to support CHOC Walk?  I surely can't think of anything.  And JareBear certainly had no complaints :)

*  McDonald's for lunch.  I regretted that the instant I was done eating.  Every.single.time we eat there I get a dang headache!  That's what happens when you put crap in your body I suppose.

Sunday:

*  Jared's newest thing is cooking/baking/helping in the kitchen.  I love it.  Hope it doesn't fade away.

*  Michael went to the movies today.  Why didn't I embarrass him and take a picture of him and his "friend" before I dropped them off?  Dang it!  Next time :)

*  Jason was quite the happy camper today.  I've never seen him happy after a Bronco's loss!  But, there was a Tebow siting.  Score!  --ESPN asked: Orton or Tebow?  Uhhhh, DUH!  Tebow!!  He's way better looking than Kyle Orton!  Oh.  I mean.  He's a way better Quarterback than Kyle Orton!  Haha :)

*  When I got back home after taking Michael the boys and I baked our favorite.  Peanut Butter Cup Cookies.  Yum!  I only ate one.  Shocker.  And, anyone who really knows me, is just as shocked after reading that.  I *heart* sweets :)

As Jared was peeling the wrappers off he told Jakie, "Whew!  This takes a lot of training!"  lol  that boy :)

*  Jared and I even delivered some to "The Neighbors" {Grandpa, Auntie, & their other halfs}

*  Jakie finally caught the cold bug that's going around.  Kicked in this evening.  Poor guy :( Stuffy nose, sneezing, burning eyes, & a low fever.  Hope he wakes up feeling better.  No school tomorrow!  Yay!

ten on tuesday.

1.  This morning somehow ended up with a conversation between Jakie and I about Heaven.  I have no idea where any of it came from but of course Jared got involved.  "Mommy, when I go to heaBen I'm gonna use a fire truck to get there.  With a big, BIG ladder to get high, high, super-high in the sky!  And, if the bad guys try to stop me I gonna bust them in their face!  --Whoa.  Determined little man.

2.  During our conversation Jakie said he wanted to do something kind today.  Something that would make someone happy.  He decided he was going to play with a "new kid" that was in a different class because no one plays with him and he's usually alone.  He has such a kind heart.  That, made me happy.  Bummer part: he couldn't find the boy today!  Hopefully it's because he made friends and was playing :)

3.  After we got back from dropping Jakie off at school I was clearing off the kitchen table getting ready to throw away the Stater Bros. ad when Jared yelled "Nooooooooooo, Mommyyyyy!!  That's a treasure map!  It will take us to the yummy food!"  --Well, what the heck was I thinking?!  He spent the next 20 minutes on the kitchen floor "exploring".  And that means, so did I :)

4.  I spent a little extra time with Jared at school today.  Everytime I tried to leave he would say, "Five more minutes, Mommy."  Five minutes turned in to forty-five minutes.  He built a village, wrote his name, cooked me breakfast, but most importantly, he loved on "Willie".  Ohhhhh, Willie.  Jared LOVES Willie.  Unfortunately, so does another little girl in his class.  We have tears every now and again over Willie.  Not today though!

5.  Just about every. single. day. that Jakie comes up to me after school, his hands look like this:

DISGUSTING.  Drives me NUTS!  That's what I get for wanting boys.

6.  Jakie got another Teacher's Award today.  The best one.  "The Dynamite Award"!  For having awesome homework and helping kids in the class.  He said his teacher went "on and on foreverrrrr" about how great he was.  That boy makes me so darn proud with the little man he's becoming :)

7.  So, of course when we got in the car he asked if we could stop at the Donut Shop because he's just sooooo awesome and he totally deserves a donut.  Or two!  Of course I gave in!

8.  I am loving my new phone that Jason FORCED me to get.  I love when he puts his foot down and I benefit from it :) Sweet, sweet man.  Thanks, Babe!

Droid Bionic.

9.  Loved the weather today!  My favorite part?  The fact that it didn't rain 'til we left school.  Perfect :)

10.  My blog isn't neglected anymore!!!!  She's happy again :)) I only took, what?  Six months off? Life got busy.  I missed blogging.

Love

- Love that Jared couldn't get enough books read to him tonight.  After he was done with me he headed to Jakie.

- Love that Jakie is such a sweet big brother...most of the time :)

- Love that Michael didn't get an attitude when he asked me if he could "stay the night at a friends house" and my response was, "Uh, no.  Don't even bother me with such non-sense on a weekday."  My guess?  He didn't really want to spend the night at all.

- Love that I spent the day with my Sister today and we had an unplanned lunch with Mom.

- Love that there's always guarenteed laughing-till-you-cry when Sister and I get together.

- Love that we're going to have a house full of teenage boys on Sunday night.  I'll host those crazy all-nighters any day over worrying all night about what's really going on when Michael goes out.

- Love that Jason took Monday off to be home with us.  He loves us :)

ten on tuesday.

1.  I've forgotten about 983,343,483 things.  Not kidding.  It's BADSome things, not so important.  Other things, very important.  And the good ol' doc is estimating at least six more weeks of this.  Not good.  I may forget who my husband is by that point.  Lucky him ;)

2.  I looked at my blog and was shocked to see the last thing I blogged about was something about last year!  Shame on me.  But, I've been tired. Very tired.  Blogging hasn't even been on my list or entered my mind.

3.  We found out Michael made the Varsity baseball team.  Yay!  So proud of him.  Not so proud of his occasional attitude.  Teenagers are tough.  Some days I feel like I'm going to explode with frustration.  Other days I can't imagine life without him here with us.

4.  Jacob is all about gloves right now.  At first it was because they kept his hands warm.  Then, he discovered they kept his hands from getting raw while playing handball.  That makes him happy.

5.  I just realized it's been so long since I've blogged that I didn't mention Jakie lost another tooth!  I love it.  He doesn't.  He thinks he's funny looking :)

6.  Jared has a new response every. single. time. he gets in trouble:
"I shorry Mommy/Daddy.  It was a akth-ident.  I din mean ah do dat.  I shorry bout dat."
Bottom lip stuck out, chin quivering and all.  Every time.  How can you get upset at that?!  That boy has us wrapped around his chubby little finger :)

7.  I'm totally lagging on my "365" (a picture every. single. day. in 2011.) I {think} I'm good on the picture taking part but not so good with the printing and journaling part.  This is year two for me.  I did it in 2009.
Didn't quite make the "every single day" part though.  So cool to look back at that album and see all of the little details throughout the year and the random everyday stuff.  LOVE it.

8.  Jared is all about taking pictures right now.  Pictures of me.  Pictures of his brother.  Pictures of the floor.  Pictures of the kitchen cabinets.  He's not picky.  The plus side, everyone loves a blurry picture of themselves, right?

9.  Jakie and I made his Valentine's Day goodies for his class.  So cute :)  And, we had a fantastic Valentine's weekend.

10.  Found out today Jason has another three-day trip to go on next week.  I can hang with those.  It's the two-weekers that are killer.  Not a fan of those ones :)
